Your day begins with a pick-up from your accommodation. Then it’s off to Stonehenge, the world’s most famous prehistoric monument! Begin your guided visit at the Stonehenge Visitor Centre, where you’ll get an in-depth overview of the site; the centre is home to a world-class exhibition and museum showcasing archaeological finds and offering interactive displays.
Your personal guide will then explain the enduring mysteries surrounding its construction and purpose. We’ll take plenty of time to explore the stone circle itself and the surrounding Wiltshire landscape. This is one of the world’s great ancient sites; we have no doubt that it will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
From here, continue on to Windsor Castle, the world’s oldest and largest occupied castle and a working royal palace once home to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Explore the magnificent State Apartments, still used for official state occasions, with their impressive collection of art, armoury, tapestries, and historic furnishings.
You’ll also visit St George’s Chapel, a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture and the setting for many royal weddings, including that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. (Please note: St George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays.)
Throughout the day, you’ll travel at your own pace, escaping the crowds and enjoying the flexibility that only a private tour can offer. While guiding inside Windsor Castle is restricted due to its free-flow policy, you’ll be provided with a complimentary audio guide, and knowledgeable in-house staff are available throughout the site.

Private Tour to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle Option
1. Experience an elite service with a tour guide and chauffeur
If you’re in a group of up to 6 people, you can treat yourself to our premium service featuring a luxurious Mercedes, staffed by two dedicated professionals – a chauffeur and an England Blue Badge guide. At Stonehenge you will be fully guided around the monument and visitor centre by your Blue Badge guide.
Your certified guide will guide you around the Windsor Castle precincts and St George’s chapel. No guiding is allowed in the State Apartments and therefore you will explore this part of the castle at your own leisure with your complimentary audio guide.
2. Enjoy the journey with a knowledgeable driver-guide
Travel in style with up to 7 people in a luxurious Mercedes, chauffeured and guided by our knowledgeable driver-guide – a best-selling option among our guests.
At Stonehenge you will be fully guided around the monument and visitor centre by your knowledgable driver-guide.
Your driver-guide will provide you with a brief orientation of the Castle grounds before letting you explore it at your own leisure with your audio guides.
3. Self-guided with professional chauffeur
This option, suitable for up to 7 people, features a professional chauffeur and a plush Mercedes. Minimal commentary allows for a personal discovery experience, ideal for travellers who are happy to visit the venues at their own pace.
The Stonehenge visit is self-guided, using the complimentary audio guide and map provided with your ticket.
Your chauffeur will drop you off outside the Castle and meet you in the same place 2.5 hours later. The visit is also entirely self-guided, and you’ll have the complimentary audio guides provided with your ticket.
A self-guided itinerary and information pack will be provided on request with an introduction to the venue(s), the history, the main highlights and what to see and do when you’re there. If you’d like us to email you an information pack please let us know when you book this tour.
*Windsor Castle will be closed to the general public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the foreseeable future due to other Royal Palace commitments.
